Abstract

Experienced psychotherapists are familiar with inspirational “insights” and transrational healing moments that elude therapeutic intentions, techniques and strategies. We approach an understanding of these phenomena, which are fed by a “not-me”, in a phenomenological study, and fathom the relevance for being and becoming whole in our existence. Participation in the unnameable numinous proves to be a “natural” immaterial source of integral existence and a necessary condition for fulfilled self-realization, held and sustained by a different participation in consciousness, a consciousness outside the human brain. Healing cannot be divided, the distinction between therapist and client is relative, and a dimension of stillness and being touched eludes a verbal-semantic grasp.
