Healing and transformation in the field of tension between linearity and resonance
Abstract
Intervention approaches in medicine and the health care system are aimed at restoring conditions before the onset of a disease. In contrast, healing, as it is sought by many people, is also associated with the attainment of a new state of equilibrium, the conditions of which are only available to a limited extent. The path towards healing requires an opening of attention. Within a phase model, four fields of attention can be described that emerge apart from each other: 1. Pausing: Attention is focused on the physical world and its spatial conditions. Disease is to be described objectively. 2. Seeing: The situation of the patient is perceived in its processuality and dynamically reflected in the social context. 3. Sensing: emotional and biographical connections with the current situation are explored. 4. Connecting to the source: The possibilities of a transformation resulting from the new situation are disclosed after the old state has been approved and released. The fields of attention can also be explored collectively at the levels of professional rolemodels, organizations and the health care system and offer new starting points for a sustainable transformation of medicine and the healthcare system.
