Does the economy really need spirituality? An antithesis

Abstract

The following text is the outcome of a request for an article in the journal „Bewusstseinwissenschaften - Transpersonale Psychologie und Psychotherapie“ on the topic „Economy and Spirituality“. In the course of dealing with this topic it became more and more evident that it is impossible for me to write a scientific contribution on this subject. Rather, a critical examination of the topic emerged, based on my experiences as a consultant and coach in companies and my own spiritual path. Thus, no article was written that met the scientific standards of the journal, but a very subjective and self-critical reflection of my own work as a spiritually oriented consultant and coach. 

The professional activity of Becoming Accompaniment (Werdens-Begleitung) experiences the indis- pensable theoretical foundation in a new cultural social system, oriented towards the humanum, i.e. primarily towards the dignity of the human being, the becoming system, in order not to become attached to the siren sounds of the „health economy“ and (unintentionally) to contribute to the cementing of the current social system.
